Job Snapshot

Job Description

Sales Manager Greater Sioux Falls Area

A long-established organization in the commercial vehicle and equipment industry is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead an established sales team and help drive continued growth across a multi-state territory.

What makes this opportunity unique is the reason the position is available: the current Sales Manager has been with the organization for 15 years and is retiring. This creates an opportunity for the next leader to step into a strong foundation, develop an experienced team, and help shape the next chapter of the sales organization.

The company has built its reputation over decades by taking care of its customers, investing in its people, and providing opportunities for employees to grow their careers within the organization.

What You’ll Do

As Sales Manager, you will lead a handful of sales representatives throughout a territory covering portions of South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop an established sales team
  • Set expectations and create accountability around goals and performance
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and market penetration
  • Develop and execute sales strategies across the territory
  • Manage quarterly sales forecasting and monthly budgets
  • Monitor expenses, margins, and overall profitability
  • Track sales performance and help representatives achieve their goals
  • Strengthen existing customer relationships while identifying opportunities for continued growth
  • Partner with branch and senior leadership on sales strategy and business objectives
  • Support the professional development and continued success of the sales team

What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out

This is an opportunity to join a stable organization with an established customer base and sales team rather than starting from the ground up.

The company offers:

  • $80,000–$110,000 base salary
  • Up to $50,000 in bonus potential
  • Company vehicle
  • Company cell phone
  • Comprehensive benefits
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Strong organizational stability
  • Established territory and customer relationships
  • Continued opportunities for professional growth and advancement

Who They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader who knows how to develop people, create accountability, and drive profitable growth.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • 3+ years of successful sales management experience
  • Experience leading, coaching, training, and developing sales professionals
  • Experience with sales forecasting and budgeting
  • Strong understanding of margins, expenses, and profitability
  • Ability to manage performance across multiple territories or locations
  • Strong customer relationship and business-development skills
  • Heavy-duty truck or commercial vehicle experience preferred
  • Agriculture, equipment, or automotive sales leadership experience will also be considered
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • CDL experience is a plus
