Operations Manager – Commercial Drywall

 

A growing commercial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in commercial drywall, metal framing, and interior construction.

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader capable of overseeing project teams, field operations, financial performance, and overall project execution.

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial drywall, interiors, specialty contracting, or related construction
  • Previous leadership experience overseeing Project Managers, Superintendents, and/or field operations
  • Strong knowledge of drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, insulation, and related scopes
  • Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, scheduling, manpower planning, and cost control
  • Experience overseeing multiple commercial projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills

Preferred

  • 10+ years of commercial drywall experience
  • Experience leading a drywall division, branch, or operations team
  • Experience with large and complex commercial projects
  • Knowledge of estimating, preconstruction, contracts, change orders, and project management
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, OST, Quick Bid, or similar software
  • Degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee commercial drywall project and field operations
  • Lead and support Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership
  • Monitor project financials, profitability, schedules, manpower, and production
  • Coordinate resources across multiple active projects
  • Support estimating, preconstruction, project turnover, and operational planning
  • Maintain relationships with general contractors, clients, vendors, and industry partners
  • Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve performance
  • Support hiring, training, mentoring, and development of project and field teams
  • Ensure projects meet company standards for safety, quality, schedule, and profitability

Compensation, Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive base salary: $125,000 – $175,000+ (depending on experience and market)
