Senior Fabrication Estimator

Base Salary: $100,000–$125,000 + Bonus Opportunity

A fabrication company in Evansville is seeking a Senior Fabrication Estimator to lead estimating efforts and develop accurate, detailed quotations for complex fabrication work.
This opportunity is suited to an experienced estimator who can prioritize bid workloads, evaluate technical requirements, and coordinate with production and project teams to deliver well-defined proposals. We are seeking local candidates who can work in the office daily and are comfortable in a fabrication shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead estimating efforts, including prioritizing opportunities and managing the estimating schedule.
Review scopes of work, drawings, specifications, codes, customer requirements, and commercial terms.
Develop detailed estimates for labor, materials, subcontracted operations, special processes, testing, inspection, and documentation.
Establish preliminary manufacturing routings and assess fabrication methods and resource requirements.
Identify scope uncertainty and high-risk activities and obtain necessary customer clarification.
Coordinate with production, project management, procurement, and quality control to validate requirements and schedules.
Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
Prepare proposals clearly defining inclusions, exclusions, substitutions, and scope assumptions.
Communicate shop capabilities, capacity, and lead times to customers.
Support business development in converting quotations into purchase orders.
Review awarded orders for alignment with quoted scope, funding, and schedule commitments.
Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of fabrication experience, including at least 5 years as an Estimator.
Associate degree in welding, machining, drafting, or equivalent relevant field experience.
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and fabrication requirements.
Experience independently developing detailed fabrication estimates.
Ability to organize and lead estimating workloads.
Tekla PowerFab experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Procore.
Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills.
Compensation & Work Environment
Base salary of $100,000–$125,000, depending on experience.
Bonus opportunity.
Daily onsite work in Evansville, IN.
Office and fabrication shop environment.
Travel for training and meetings as needed.
