Accounting Associate
A respected and growing home builder is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to play an integral role in supporting the financial operations of a busy construction company.
The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks, accounts payable, and general accounting functions, along with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments and affiliated entities.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts payable, ensuring invoices are coded accurately and paid in a timely manner.
- Enter invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general accounting functions.
- Utilize QuickBooks for daily accounting transactions and reporting.
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members regarding invoices, payments, and account inquiries.
- Collaborate with multiple departments and affiliated business entities to ensure accurate financial reporting and documentation.
- Assist with account reconciliations, month-end closing activities, and financial record maintenance.
- Organize and maintain accounting files and supporting documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed.
- Assist with additional accounting and office responsibilities to support day-to-day business operations.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably within the construction or home building industry.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
- Experience with accounts payable and general accounting processes.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple teams and business entities.
