Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

A well-established commercial general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects. This role partners with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in commercial construction and is looking to grow into a Project Manager role within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of commercial construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and procurement activities
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and material deliveries
  • Assist with cost tracking, pay applications, and project documentation
  • Support communication between field teams, clients, architects, and engineers
  • Monitor project progress and help resolve scheduling or coordination issues
  • Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of commercial construction methods and project delivery
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar software is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $75,000–$100,000 per year
