Job Snapshot

Job Description

Project Manager – Real Estate Development

Dallas/Fort Worth, TX

This is an opportunity to join an experienced real estate developer delivering complex, high-profile projects throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth market.

Unlike a General Contractor Project Manager position, this role sits on the developer/owner side of the table. You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of development—working alongside architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, municipalities, investors, and internal leadership to move projects from vision to reality.

The organization has a diverse portfolio that includes large-scale master-planned projects.

What You’ll Do

As Project Manager, you’ll take an active role in managing development and construction activities from early planning through final delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage projects throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area from planning and design through preconstruction, construction, and closeout
  • Represent the developer/owner while coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, general contractors, and other project partners
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, contracts, and overall execution
  • Participate in design development and constructability discussions
  • Coordinate permitting, approvals, entitlements, and municipality requirements
  • Review project costs, forecasts, change orders, pay applications, and financial reporting
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication between all stakeholders
  • Identify and proactively address schedule, budget, design, and construction challenges
  • Assist with contractor and consultant selection and procurement
  • Monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements
  • Provide regular project reporting to senior leadership and ownership
  • Drive projects toward successful delivery while protecting the developer’s overall objectives

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of project management, development, construction, or related experience
  • Experience managing significant commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, residential, civic, or similar projects
  • Strong understanding of the complete development and construction lifecycle
  • Ability to manage multiple consultants, contractors, stakeholders, budgets, and schedules simultaneously
  • Experience reviewing drawings, contracts, schedules, estimates, change orders, and construction documentation
  • Strong financial and cost-management aptitude
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Why This Opportunity?

This position offers something different from the typical general contractor Project Manager role in the Dallas/Fort Worth market.

You’ll have the opportunity to see the entire development process, not simply the construction phase. You’ll participate in the decisions that shape a project early, work directly with ownership and senior leadership, and have meaningful influence over how projects are planned, designed, constructed, and ultimately delivered.

If you’re ready to move beyond managing construction and want a seat at the table on the developer side, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
