Remote Project Manager – High-End Retail Construction
A well-established and highly respected commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee high-end and luxury retail construction projects across the country.
This is a primarily remote position with the flexibility to live anywhere in the United States. Travel is limited to approximately 15% for project needs, along with quarterly visits to the company’s office. The organization has invested heavily in technology, systems and communication tools, allowing its project teams to operate effectively without being tied to a typical office environment.
The ideal candidate has experience managing luxury retail, flagship, boutique or other highly detailed commercial interior projects where schedule, craftsmanship and brand standards are critical.
Responsibilities
- Manage high-end retail projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Oversee budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement and project documentation
- Coordinate with owners, architects, designers, subcontractors and field teams
- Maintain strict quality standards for custom finishes, millwork and specialty installations
- Lead project meetings and provide consistent communication to clients and internal teams
- Identify potential risks and resolve issues before they affect schedule or budget
- Support superintendents and ensure strong coordination between the office and field
- Manage change orders, cost reporting, forecasting and subcontractor performance
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time and in accordance with brand requirements
- Assist with final turnover, punch-list completion and project closeout
Qualifications
- Commercial construction Project Management experience
- High-end retail, luxury retail, flagship, boutique experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of fast-paced commercial interiors and detailed finish work
- Ability to manage multiple project stakeholders and maintain demanding client expectations
- Experience with project management software and technology-driven construction systems
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, contract administration and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Willingness to travel approximately 15% and visit the company office quarterly
