Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and motivated survey crew chief to lead a 2-3 person field crew on a variety of land surveying projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on field experience, and proficiency in modern survey equipment and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage field crews on boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and as-built surveys
- Operate and maintain GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Interpret and execute survey instructions from project managers and CAD teams
- Ensure accurate and complete field notes, sketches, and data collection
- Maintain equipment, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with project specs
- Travel to job sites throughout Louisiana as needed (home nightly in most cases)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of land surveying experience, including 2+ years as a Crew Chief
- Proficient in the use of Trimble or similar survey equipment
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS
- Strong understanding of boundary, ALTA, topographic, and construction surveys
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift 50+ lbs
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $28–$38 per hour (DOE)
