This role requires a relationship‑driven lender with strong credit skills, deep knowledge of SBA lending programs, and a passion for empowering minority‑owned and emerging businesses.
Key Responsibilities
SBA Lending & Portfolio Management
- Originate, structure, and close SBA 7(a), SBA 504, and SBA Express loans in accordance with SBA SOPs and the banks credit policies.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, projections, and collateral to assess creditworthiness and determine appropriate loan structures.
- Prepare complete and compliant loan packages for underwriting, approval, and SBA submission.
- Manage an active pipeline and ensure timely movement from application to closing.
- Monitor portfolio performance, maintain strong borrower relationships, and support clients through the life of the loan.
- Ensure all SBA eligibility, documentation, and reporting requirements are met to protect the SBA guaranty.
Business Development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 3–7 years of SBA lending experience, preferably in a community bank environment.
- Strong knowledge of SBA 7(a), 504, and Express programs, SBA SOPs, and eligibility requirements.
- Proven ability to analyze financial statements, assess credit risk, and structure complex loan requests.
- Demonstrated success in business development and relationship management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Commitment to the banks mission of serving underserved communities and supporting minority‑owned businesses.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production goals.
