Project Engineer – Commercial Construction
Salt Lake City, UT

Ready to take on more responsibility and build toward a Project Manager role? A commercial general contractor in Salt Lake City is seeking a Project Engineer to help keep projects organized, coordinated, and moving forward.

You’ll work closely with project managers and superintendents, gaining hands-on experience across the full construction process—from preconstruction through closeout.

What You’ll Do

• Manage RFIs, submittals, project documents, and drawing updates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.
• Support procurement, material tracking, and schedule coordination.
• Assist with change orders, cost tracking, and subcontract administration.
• Participate in project meetings and follow up on action items.
• Help manage punch lists, closeout documents, and turnover requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role with a commercial general contractor.
• Understanding of commercial construction methods, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and address issues proactively.
• Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software.
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.
