Job Description

A well-established mid-size law firm in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with 1–5 years of experience to join its growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build hands-on litigation experience while working alongside respected attorneys in a collaborative, professional environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling civil litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, legal research, client communication, and court appearances. Candidates should be confident, detail-oriented, and eager to take ownership of cases while continuing to develop their litigation skills.

Responsibilities include:

Managing civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
Conducting legal research and case analysis
Attending hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings
Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members
Supporting senior attorneys with trial preparation and case strategy

Qualifications:

1–5 years of civil litigation experience
Virginia Bar admission required
Strong writing, research, and advocacy skills
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Courtroom, deposition, or mediation experience is a plus
Excellent communication and client-service skills

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range of $100,000–$150,000, depending on experience
