Associate Attorney – Litigation
A respected and growing Pacific Northwest law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its dynamic litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated legal work, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to take ownership of cases while continuing to develop professionally.
The firm represents businesses, professionals, and individuals in a broad range of complex civil and commercial disputes. Associates are given substantial responsibility, direct mentorship from experienced litigators, and the opportunity to gain significant courtroom and client-facing experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution with appropriate supervision and support
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and other substantive legal filings
- Conduct legal research and prepare strategic case analyses and memoranda
- Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and participate in hearings and mediations
- Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and litigation teams
- Maintain direct communication with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and expectations
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and courtroom support
- Work on a variety of business, commercial, and civil litigation matters involving sophisticated legal issues
Qualifications
- Active membership in the Washington State Bar
- 3+ years of litigation experience in civil, commercial, business, insurance, employment, or related litigation matters
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience managing multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience preferred
