Qualifications for the HVAC Piping Foreman:
- 3+ years of experience
- Chill Water / Heating Water serving AHU’s, FCU’s etc…
- Equipment installation i.e. chillers, boilers, mini splits is a must.
- Pipefitting skills, specifically the ability to layout piping runs and
- Rooftop equipment setting, curbs, fans, RTU’s and AHU’s
- Knowledge of proper piping assemblies for coils connections
- Ability to work with General contractors and subcontractors
- Ability to plan their work…. Line out a crew in 6-week increments on larger projects and update that plan weekly/bi-weekly
- Able to utilize plan grid / Procore or other documents managing platforms to look at drawings, docs
- Knowledge of safety rules and maintaining a proactive stance on safety
- Willing to teach less experienced partners who are willing to learn.
- Never takes the approach: “that’s how they treated me when I was coming up…” As this is one reason we have a trade shortage in the first place.
- Never assumes “that’s not my job”…and is willing to lead by example and work as necessary to get the job done.
