Key Responsibilities
Analyze insurance policies (CGL, property, professional liability, auto, etc.) and provide written coverage opinions.
Defend insurers in coverage litigation, including declaratory judgment actions and bad faith claims.
Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and dispositive briefs in complex litigation matters.
Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as appropriate.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop case strategies that are legally sound and cost-effective.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice in Wisconsin.
3–10 years of insurance coverage experience, with a focus on insurer-side defense.
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Proven ability to manage a litigation caseload independently and effectively.
Experience working directly with insurance carriers or claims professionals is highly preferred.
