Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CAD Designer to support specialized engineering design projects in nuclear or other regulated industries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D modeling (S3D preferred) and a solid understanding of Federal, State, and Local codes and standards, including Department of Energy (DOE) Orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize computer-aided drafting (CAD) applications to develop complex 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Interpret, generate, and modify design drawings of moderate to advanced complexity with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct field walkdowns, interpret field conditions, and incorporate findings into design details.
  • Develop new drawings, update existing drawings, and oversee the work of other designers.
  • Prepare estimates, schedules, staffing plans, and progress reports to support project execution.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (Requirement due to project scope).
  • 10+ years of drafting/design experience in engineering and construction (Nuclear industry preferred).
  • Strong background in one or more engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, structural, communications, architectural, fire protection, or civil).
  • Associate degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (S3D preferred).
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local engineering codes and standards.
