Job Description

My client is seeking an experienced and highly organized Civil Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all phases of the estimating process for a variety of project types including civil, site, excavation, utilities, roads, paving, water/wastewater, sewer,  and more.  You will ensure that the project estimates are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with quality standards.  Not only will you communicate directly with diverse clientele in both the public and private sector, you will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, contractors, and local agencies to achieve project goals and deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred but not required - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in Civil Construction Estimating
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Estimating

    • Develop comprehensive project estimates, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
    • Create detailed project estimates and ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
  2. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and motivate the estimating teams, including internal staff and subcontractors.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  3. Budget Management:

    • Monitor project budgets and financial performance, identifying and addressing any deviations.
    • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Implement and enforce quality control measures to meet and exceed project specifications.
    • Conduct regular reviews of data to ensure it's accuracy and quality.
  5. Client Communication:

    • Address client concerns and maintain positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
    • Proactively address unforeseen challenges and adapt plans as necessary.
  7. Contract Administration:

    • Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Ensure all parties adhere to contractual obligations and specifications.
