Legal Secretary– San Diego, CA

A highly regarded mid-sized law firm—consistently ranked a Best Place to Work—is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support its busy litigation team. This is a great opportunity for a skilled legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is comfortable managing multiple cases and attorneys. This position plays a critical role in supporting attorneys with all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong calendaring skills, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. The firm offers a flexible hybrid schedule (3 days in-office), top-tier benefits, and a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and finalize legal documents and correspondence
  • Perform manual calendaring (Outlook) and manage court deadlines
  • File with state and federal courts (including e-filing)
  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery
  • Provide general administrative support including scheduling, phones, expense reports, and travel arrangements
  • Coordinate workflow across multiple attorneys and cases

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Strong understanding of state and federal court rules, procedures, and e-filing
  • Skilled in TOAs/TOCs, MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Tech-savvy with a team-first attitude
