Truss Designer – Relocation Required | Building Materials Industry

As a Truss Designer, you’ll play a key role in interpreting blueprints and creating accurate, production-ready designs for trusses and engineered wood components. This on-site role is essential to the company’s success and offers the opportunity to work on diverse residential and commercial projects with a seasoned team of construction professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing

  • Translate customer blueprints into precise and accurate truss and component designs.
  • Finalize working drawings for fabrication and production purposes.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver on-time, high-quality solutions.

Analysis & Troubleshooting

  • Review architectural and structural plans to identify design requirements.
  • Analyze specifications and engineered drawings to create efficient, code-compliant layouts.
  • Address design challenges quickly and accurately with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness and ability to relocate to work on-site.
  • Proficiency in truss design software: MiTek preferred, Alpine considered
  • Working knowledge of construction principles and truss design fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, layout interpretation, and framing concepts.
  • Solid foundation in math, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team in a deadline-driven environment.
