(Heavy Civil Construction)

A heavy civil contractor is partnered with gpac in search for a Senior Project Manager to lead their heavy civil construction division. This client is financially stable with $70M in work annually and state of the art equipment that is fully paid for. They have a skilled workforce, with extremely low turnover, and practice values of safety and integrity. Senior Project Manager Job Summary:

This position oversees all aspects of one large, or several small construction projects from award to completion to ensure its success and alignment with our partner's principles.  The Senior Project Manager serves as the primary liaison to Clients and guarantees their satisfaction, while respecting the companies established economic goals and safety initiatives.

Senior Project Manager Essential Functions:

Project Management

  • Responsible for delivering projects on-time and within budget as leader of the project team.
  • Responsible for project coordination and acts as lead Company liaison with Owner to ensure exceptional Client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and thorough financial reports on the project.
  • Oversees coordination of work methods with Superintendent and Engineer on-site to ensure all operations are conducted in alignment with Company procedures and best-practices.
  • Responsible for subcontractor selection, negotiation, contract execution and coordination.

Quality / Safety

  • Partners with Safety Director and Superintendent to ensure Company and Client safety expectations are followed and exceeded.

Planning / Scheduling

  • Submits and negotiates Change Orders and back charges.
  • Assists with new opportunity research and estimating.

Teamwork / Leadership

  • Positively represents the Company to others at all times.
  • Promotes a project site culture that maintains company growth and worker/client satisfaction.
  • Acts as a leader, mentor and team player for the Company at all times.

Work Environment

  • Primarily an office-based position;
  • Requires occasional visits to outdoor construction sites with no climate control, potentially uneven terrain, access to work sites via ladders and stair towers and inspection of work performed at heights
  • Remote work is negotiable depending on the location of the candidate and their proximity to our work areas and/ or the office for in-person meetings if necessary

Senior Project Manager Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of construction management experience w/ cost control responsibility
  • BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Active P.E. (preferred)
  • Bridge construction experience
  • Class 1 Rail-road experience (preferred)
  • Willingness to Travel, at times on short notice

Compensation + Benefits:

  • Salary negotiable and based on experience
  • 401k + 6% match, Bonus Program (up to 30%), paid holidays and PTO
