Paralegal – Estate Planning, Probate & MaineCare
Location: South Portland, ME (Hybrid Remote)
Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity:
A well-established legal team in Southern Maine is seeking a skilled Paralegal with experience in Estate Planning, Probate, and MaineCare. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and knowledgeable team in a hybrid remote role, where your contributions will directly impact clients and families across Maine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, and other estate planning documents.

  • Assist with MaineCare eligibility matters, including preparing and submitting applications and gathering supporting documentation.

  • Manage probate filings and case progression with accuracy and attention to deadlines.

  • Coordinate with attorneys to ensure high-quality drafting and timely completion of matters.

  • Maintain professional communication with clients, courts, and outside professionals.

  • Utilize technology tools (Word, Excel, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, e-Recording, EZFile, and case management software) to manage workflow and documentation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Prior experience in estate planning and probate paralegal work.

  • Strong knowledge of MaineCare eligibility requirements and application processes.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle direction from multiple attorneys.

  • Strong written communication and drafting skills.

  • Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships.

  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software tools.
