Commercial Door Technician
About the Opportunity
Our client, a leader in commercial building products and services, is seeking an experienced Commercial Door Technician to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and installing sectional, high-speed, rolling steel, and loading dock doors and equipment. This role is best suited for a mechanically inclined professional who takes pride in problem-solving and delivering outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, service, and install commercial doors and related equipment, including:
Sectional doors
High-speed doors
Rolling steel doors
Loading dock equipment
Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with doors, motors, and controls
Accurately document service and repair activities, parts used, and time spent
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including company vehicles and tools
Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and professionally with clients
Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
Qualifications
Prior experience as a Commercial Door Technician (or in a similar role) required
Knowledge of commercial door systems, operators, and dock equipment
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical)
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Comfort working at heights and with power tools
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and reliability
