Business Developer – Structural Steel Fabrication & Erection

We’re seeking a Business Developer with a strong technical background in structural steel to help grow one of the Midwest’s premier steel fabricators and erectors. This company is recognized for delivering some of the most iconic structures and arenas in the region, and you’ll have the opportunity to represent their capabilities while building long-term client relationships.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in fabrication and erection.

  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, developers, and architects.

  • Use your technical knowledge to present solutions that fit client needs.

  • Partner with estimating, engineering, and project management teams on proposals.

  • Travel up to 50% for client meetings, events, and site visits.

  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitors, and project opportunities.

What You Bring:

  • Strong technical understanding of structural steel.

  • Applicable backgrounds include estimation, project management, or sales.

  • Proven ability to develop business and grow accounts.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Willingness to travel regionally up to 50%.

  • Self-driven with a results-focused mindset.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $100,000 – $130,000 base salary (DOE) + commissions

  • 100% employer-paid medical coverage for the employee

  • PTO
