We are looking for an experienced commercial real estate attorney to manage a broad range of transactional matters. The ideal candidate is articulate, personable, a strong negotiator, and thrives in a collaborative, client-facing role.
You will play a central role in high-value transactions for a diverse client base including developers, owners, tenants, investors, and financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, and related transactional documents for all asset classes
- Oversee commercial acquisitions and dispositions, including due diligence, title and survey review
- Manage leasing matters for landlords and tenants, including retail, office, and industrial
- Handle zoning, land use, and entitlement work for development projects
- Close real estate financing transactions and prepare/review loan documentation
- Advise clients on construction, development, and property management issues
- Provide support for retail development and site planning for developers
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas including corporate and tax
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate law
- Proven background in acquisitions, leasing, zoning/entitlements, construction, and finance
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois (or ability to become licensed promptly)
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and client relationship abilities
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple transactions simultaneously
