Human Resources Manager – Construction Industry


Location: Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid – 1 Day Work from Home + Friday Afternoons Off)

Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in people-focused environment? Our client, a well-established general contractor in the Milwaukee area, is seeking an HR Manager to lead their human resources function and support a growing team of construction professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work, driving employee engagement, overseeing compliance, and partnering closely with leadership to shape a strong company culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage all HR operations, including onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations, compliance, and workforce planning.

  • Develop and implement HR policies and initiatives that support growth and promote a positive culture.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of HR experience, ideally within the construction or skilled trades industry.

  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, recruiting best practices, and HR systems.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A self-starter who enjoys working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
