Senior Field Engineer – Civil Construction

Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Senior Field Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in civil construction to join our growing team. This individual will work on a variety of roadway, excavation, underground utility, grading, and paving projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive in the field, and eager to take the next step in their career. This position is designed to mentor and train the individual for advancement into an Assistant Superintendent and eventually Superintendent role.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist project teams with day-to-day field operations and coordination

  • Perform quantity tracking, material takeoffs, and daily reporting

  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and compliance

  • Support layout, surveying, and quality control activities on active job sites

  • Communicate with subcontractors and field crews to ensure work aligns with project plans

  • Participate in project scheduling, cost tracking, and progress meetings

  • Maintain strong safety and quality standards across all assigned projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred

  • 3–5 years of field experience in civil construction (roadways, excavation, utilities, grading, paving, etc.)

  • Strong technical understanding of civil construction methods and materials

  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership potential

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and common project management tools

  • Desire to advance into field leadership positions
