Insolvency Lawyer – 5+ Years | Toronto
Compensation: $140,000 – $190,000+ (commensurate with experience)
A respected mid-sized Toronto firm is seeking an experienced Insolvency and Debt Recovery Lawyer to join their established commercial litigation and financial services practice.
This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys complex problem-solving, client advocacy, and providing strategic guidance to creditors, lenders, and corporate clients in challenging financial situations.
About the Opportunity
The successful candidate will work on sophisticated insolvency and restructuring files, including bankruptcies, receiverships, and enforcement proceedings. You’ll collaborate with a collegial team recognized for their practical approach, client care, and depth of expertise in commercial litigation and creditor remedies.
Key Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in insolvency, debt recovery, and enforcement.
• Strong understanding of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, and related legislation. • Experience representing financial institutions, trustees, and secured creditors.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage complex files independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
