STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (STEEL ERECTION)

A growing construction firm is looking for a hands-on Structural Engineer with experience in steel design, erection planning, and field coordination. This role involves a mix of design, analysis, and problem-solving to support large structural steel projects from concept through completion. Hybrid flexibility.

What You’ll Do:

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs to define project requirements

  • Create and review bracing layouts, lifting systems, and sequencing plans for steel erection

  • Evaluate structural stability and ensure safety throughout all project phases

  • Design lifting devices, rigging components, and other field supports

  • Collaborate with field teams to solve design or erection challenges in real time

  • Assist with cost evaluations and propose efficient design alternatives

  • Use or learn modern CAD/BIM tools to model structural systems and sequencing

  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams

What You’ll Need:

  • PE license (or ability to obtain in a timely manner)

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural or steel-related engineering

  • Strong understanding of fabrication, erection, and field installation methods

  • Experience with Tekla or similar structural design software 

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office tools

  • Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits across the U.S.
