Job Description

Gpac is partnered with a well-established agribusiness in th Northeast region that is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the day-to-day operations of its accounting department. This position plays a key role in overseeing financial planning and analysis, treasury management, and accounting systems across multiple divisions, including farming, grain, feed, and logistics operations. A relevant background in agriculture or manufacturing is preferred.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on financial leader with strong technical accounting skills, proven team management experience, and a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
• Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives
• Manage treasury and cash flow operations
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and GAAP reporting standards
• Partner with operations and management to analyze performance and support decision-making
• Lead process improvements and technology integration within accounting systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
• Proven experience leading an accounting team in a multi-entity or complex business environment
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control procedures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP or accounting software systems
• Familiarity with Merchant Ag, Power BI, or Power Automate a plus
• Background in agriculture, manufacturing, or related industries preferred
