💼 About the Role

The Bankruptcy Paralegal will provide essential support to attorneys representing creditors. You will draft and file legal documents, manage daily docket flow, monitor deadlines, prepare hearing materials, and communicate with parties in interest. This role requires deep familiarity with bankruptcy procedures, exceptional organizational abilities, and confidence handling multiple active cases.

✨ Key Responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents and pleadings for Chapters 7, 11, and 13
  • Manage daily docket flow and file documents through PACER/CM-ECF
  • Track and monitor statutory deadlines and maintain critical calendars
  • Prepare hearing and trial materials, including agendas and binders
  • Provide trial/deposition support, including exhibit preparation
  • Verify citations and legal references; format, edit, and proofread documents
  • Monitor case progress and ensure timely preparation of filings and reports
  • Communicate regularly with clients about case status and filings
  • Draft simple motions and complaints objecting to discharge
  • Maintain and organize multiple case-management systems
  • Perform administrative duties as needed to support attorneys and auditors

🧠 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience using PACER, Best Case, and MyCase software
  • Familiarity with local rules of bankruptcy courts
  • Proficiency with CM/ECF e-filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple cases

Salary commensurate with candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
