Preconstruction Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA

Company Overview:
A respected and well-recognized general contractor in the Atlanta market is looking for a Preconstruction Manager to oversee and lead preconstruction efforts on major commercial projects. This firm delivers diverse ground-up developments across healthcare, education, civic, office, and mixed-use sectors, with data center project experience highly valued.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preconstruction process from conceptual estimates through final GMP

  • Oversee estimating teams, subcontractor outreach, and scope definition

  • Partner with owners, architects, and engineers to align budgets with design intent

  • Present cost models, budgets, and reports to internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure a seamless handoff into construction

  • Drive value engineering, constructability reviews, and early project scheduling input

  • Mentor and guide junior preconstruction and estimating staff

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of preconstruction or estimating experience in commercial construction

  • Proven background managing preconstruction on ground-up commercial projects

  • Data center project experience is a strong plus

  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills

  • Proficiency in estimating and preconstruction software, as well as Excel

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while delivering accurate, on-time results
