Preconstruction Manager

A respected and well-established general contractor in the Janesville area is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts on complex, high-profile projects. Responsibilities:
Oversee the full preconstruction process, from conceptual budgeting to final GMP development
Lead estimating teams, subcontractor outreach, and scope development to ensure comprehensive and competitive proposals
Collaborate with owners, architects, and engineers to align design decisions with budget goals
Conduct value engineering, constructability reviews, and schedule input during preconstruction
Develop and present cost models, budgets, and detailed reports to stakeholders
Ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to operations by coordinating closely with project managers and superintendents
Mentor junior preconstruction staff and estimators, supporting their professional growth
Help refine preconstruction procedures and implement process improvements
Requirements:
8+ years of preconstruction or estimating experience in commercial construction
Proven track record managing preconstruction efforts for ground-up projects
Strong leadership skills with ability to direct teams and build relationships with clients and design partners
Proficiency with estimating and preconstruction software, as well as Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
