Opportunity for Non-Equity Partner: Insurance Coverage Attorney
Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Hybrid/Flexible Remote Policy)
We are seeking an accomplished, highly-skilled Insurance Coverage Attorney to join our dynamic and growing practice in the capacity of a Non-Equity Partner. This is a significant opportunity for a lateral attorney with deep, carrier-side experience to immediately manage high-level, regional, and national coverage matters without the requirement of a pre-existing book of business. We value proven expertise and are looking for a true coverage specialist to be a key leader in our firm.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Experience: A minimum of 6+ years of solid experience focused specifically on insurance coverage and carrier-side/defense litigation.
- Coverage Specialization (Must Have):
- Significant pre-litigation experience.
- Expertise in coverage analysis and writing formal opinions for carriers.
- Deep understanding of policies covering Professional Liability, General Liability, and Construction Defect.
- Litigation Expertise (Carrier Side/Defense): Proven experience in insurance coverage litigation, including all phases of pre-trial and trial work.
- Lateral Potential: The drive and experience to step directly into a leadership role as a non-equity partner. No book of business is required; we are hiring based on your exceptional, proven coverage expertise.
- Jurisdiction & Residency:
- Required: Current residence in Arizona.
- Preferred: Admission to the Arizona Bar. Candidates admitted in another state and willing to seek prompt Arizona admission will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct sophisticated, in-depth insurance coverage analysis across various lines (Professional Liability, GL, Construction Defect) and draft formal coverage opinions.
- Lead and manage complex insurance coverage and bad faith litigation matters from pre-litigation through resolution, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Provide strategic advice and counsel directly to insurance carrier clients on claims, risk exposure, and policy interpretation.
- Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and staff on coverage issues and litigation strategy.
