Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Junior Agriculture Loan Officer to join our lending team. This entry-level role is perfect for someone passionate about agriculture and looking to grow a career in ag lending. You’ll work alongside experienced lenders to develop and manage loan relationships with agricultural clients while gaining the knowledge and tools necessary to advance within the bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing and underwriting agriculture loans, including real estate, operating, and equipment loans
• Support senior ag loan officers with client relationship management and loan portfolio servicing
• Conduct farm visits and build relationships with existing and prospective ag borrowers
• Review borrower financials, cash flows, and collateral evaluations under supervision
• Prepare loan documentation and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards
• Participate in community outreach and ag-related events to promote the bank’s services
• Stay current on ag industry trends, USDA/FSA programs, and local market conditions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Ag Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 0–2 years of banking, ag lending, or farming/ranching experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of agricultural operations and financial statements
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and loan origination systems
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for client visits
