Position Overview:

We are a boutique litigation law firm with offices in both Chicago and Washington, D.C. We are currently looking to add a strong paralegal to our team in Chicago. The position will work with the four other paralegals to provide support to the firm’s lawyers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proofreading, editing, and cite checking of fact and legal citations in memorandums and briefs.
  • Submission of court filings in the state and federal electronic filing platforms.
  • Assisting with discovery including document production, processing and management of electronically stored information, and attending to all facets of deposition preparation.
  • Addressing all aspects of trial preparation, including onsite trial management, which may involve travel.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of litigation paralegal experience, including experience taking multiple cases to trial.
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up and project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines under tight time constraints.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to ensure seamless integration into the firm’s client services culture, which requires collegiality, courtesy, diplomacy and tact.

Preferred Credentials:

  • Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with document management systems.
  • Westlaw knowledge.
  • Familiarity with deposition processing software.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $115,000–140,000 salary
