Overview

A well-respected law firm with a strong family law practice is seeking a Family Law Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join its growing team in Springfield, MO. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys direct client interaction, managing cases from inception through resolution, and working in a collaborative, supportive environment. While the role is primarily focused on family law, the firm offers the opportunity to gain experience in additional practice areas based on interest and firm needs. The team places a strong emphasis on mentorship, professional growth, and long-term development.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a full range of family law matters, including divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, spousal support, and post-decree modifications
  • Manage cases independently from intake through settlement or trial
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations
  • Assist with matters in other practice areas as needed or based on attorney interest
  • Provide thoughtful, compassionate counsel to clients during sensitive matters
  • Collaborate with partners and staff to ensure high-quality client service

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active license and in good standing in Missouri
  • 3–5 years of legal experience, with a strong background in family law preferred
  • Interest in practicing primarily family law with openness to additional practice areas
  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and legal writing skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and efficiently
  • Professional, client-focused demeanor with excellent communication skills
