Tax Supervisor - Corporate

Location: McLean, VA

Overview

A leading national middle-market professional services firm is seeking a Tax Supervisor for its corporate tax practice in McLean, Virginia. You will help public and private multinational corporate clients meet their accounting for income tax reporting requirements and income tax consulting and compliance obligations, working with a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed review and analysis of tax returns
• Work on multiple complex issues and communicate them clearly to clients and the service team
• Interact directly with clients on questions, planning and concerns
• Develop, motivate and train staff
• Perform, document, summarize and review research on specific tax issues
• Stay current on tax practices and changes in tax law

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting
• Eligible to sit for the CPA exam or a licensed JD
• 4+ years of public accounting experience, including 2+ years focused on corporate federal tax compliance
• Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and corporate tax returns
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• International tax experience a plus; fluency in French, German, Japanese or Mandarin and experience with large non-U.S. companies operating in North America preferred
