A leading firm is actively seeking a mid- to senior-level Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with a computer science or electrical engineering background to join their high-performing IP team. 🔧 What You'll Do
• Interview inventors and draft high-quality U.S. and international patent applications
• Manage all stages of patent prosecution, including U.S. and foreign filings and ex parte appeals
• Conduct validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses; prepare detailed opinion letters
• Provide counsel on patent, trademark, copyright, and basic licensing matters
• Gain hands-on opportunities in licensing and IP litigation
• Collaborate closely with partners, associates, inventors, and technical experts
• Stay updated on IP law developments and contribute to internal knowledge initiatives
• Support patent portfolio strategies, invention harvesting, and client counseling
• Review technical disclosures and coordinate with foreign associates
• Maintain meticulous documentation, workflows, and deadline compliance
🎓 Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in EE, CS, ME, ChemE, Biotechnology, or a related technical field
• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO)
• Prior patent drafting and prosecution experience (law firm or in-house) strongly preferred
• Strong technical writing, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple matters, and meet strict deadlines
• Technical background in computer circuits, multiprocessor design, or telecommunications is highly desired
