What you will be doing as an experienced Transportation Engineer:

  • Develop and be involved with the design of various types of highway, bridge and traffic projects, including urban and rural roadways, interstates, interchanges, traffic management, transportation planning, highway safety, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometric layout, MOT, and ADA compliance projects.
  • Develop deliverables and provide quality control for all stages of a project, including preliminary layouts, final plans, reports, specifications, and estimates.
  • Oversee the work of Design Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
  • Coordinate with clients, team members, and subconsultants with unwavering professionalism to successfully delivery projects.
  • Provide leadership to our highway professionals, ensuring proper support in programming, technology, and talent to deliver services with the highest quality.
  • Participate in marketing for projects. Identify potential clients and potential projects. Participate in firm meet and greets and interviews.
  • Develop and mentor the highway engineering skillsets of junior and entry level design engineers.

What you'll bring as an experienced Transportation Engineer :

  • 10+ years progressive experience in a combination of highway design and project management.
  • BSCE (required), MSCE (a plus)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
  • Preliminary and Final design experience with DOT SHA projects, specifications, and guidelines required.
  • Hands-on experience with MicroStation (preferred), AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
  • Experience with roadway modeling (Inroads, OpenRoads). 
  • Experience with AASHTO Policy's and Guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver challenging projects, work on simultaneous task assignments, and have excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
