Job Description

gpac is looking for a Commercial Loan Post Closing Specialist, to join a local community bank.

The Closing Specialist is responsible for the timely completion of commercial loan documentation assignments, data input as required, and other tasks to complete the commercial loan origination process. This includes ensuring all loan approvals are completed timely, accurately and within all policy, procedure, regulatory and safety and soundness banking standards. The Loan Closing Specialist communicates with the loan officers, appraisers, title agencies, and customers as needed. This person will provide reporting as required, and sufficient, quality service to internal and internal customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviews approved loans to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing.
  • Reviews loan files for proper compliance, disclosures, signatures, and documentation.
  • Calculates figures and prepares required documents for closing; resolves any errors with original document audit including Memo for Closing, HUD, TIL, application, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements; verifies accuracy and consistency of specifications on all documents.
  • Contacts internal and external individuals to correct closing issues and system discrepancies.
  • Reviews documents when received from attorney or title company for accuracy prior to closing.
  • Tracks closing dates on all new loans to ensure closing dates are met.
  • Coordinates loan closing with underwriters, loan officers, borrowers, and legal counsel; ensures all necessary loan documentation is completed and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Issues closing instructions to settlement agent; orders and reviews title work.
  • Makes corrections to closing documents and forwards corrected documents to the originator for signature, as required.
  • Maintains and prepares reports for senior management as required.

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
