Horticulture Director in Mount Vernon

Job Description

A longstanding Greenhouse company is looking to hire a Horticulture Director. This company offers a competitive salary based on experience, benefits, flexible PTO, and a generous 401k match! Relocation may be required.

 Horticulture Director Responsibilities:

• Oversee all greenhouse growing decisions
• Manage plant diseases and IPM programs
• Develop written crop protocols for all varieties including watering practices, temperature regulations, preventative spray program, growth regulation program, pest potentials, pinching/trimming requirements, fertilization requirements, optimal light levels, etc.
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA, state and federal regulations
• Ensure that the proper timings are in the plan for all crops in all seasons

Horticulture Director Requirements:

• Experience with annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, and tropicals in containers
• Advanced plant and horticultural knowledge
• IPM experience, 5 - 10 years preferred 
• Ability to work independently, yet take a lead role in a team oriented structure
• Proficient Computer Skills
• Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
• High level of organizational and planning skills with specific ability to prioritize activities
