As a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney, you will represent employers in all phases of workers’ compensation claims and litigation. You’ll handle case evaluation, litigation strategy, settlement negotiations, and representation at hearings, mediations, and trials.
Review and evaluate workers’ compensation claims for validity and defense strategies
Conduct investigations and gather supporting evidence
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trials
Provide ongoing legal advice and case strategy to clients
Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts
Negotiate and draft settlement agreements
Stay current on workers' compensation laws and regulations
2–5 years of experience in workers’ compensation defense (or strong interest in transitioning into this practice area)
In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedures
Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
Ability to manage multiple matters independently while meeting deadlines
Excellent communication and client service skills
Competitive salary: $100,000 – $130,000 (DOE)
