Traffic Engineer – Indianapolis

A leading employee-owned engineering firm with over 60 years in business is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join the Transportation Department in Indianapolis, IN. This is a great opportunity to grow your career with one of the top firms in the nation.

Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 annually (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform traffic impact studies, safety studies, and signal optimization

  • Conduct intersection and roadway traffic modeling

  • Complete roundabout analysis and geometric evaluations

  • Prepare INDOT plans, reports, and technical proposals

  • Assist in traffic signal design and operations

  • Collaborate with clients, agencies, and contractors

  • Mentor junior staff and manage project tasks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering required

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required

  • Experience with ITE Trip Generation Manual and traffic studies

  • Knowledge of INDOT standards preferred

  • Software skills: HCS, Synchro, Vissim, Rodel, MicroStation
