Project Director – Commercial Mechanical Construction

Location: Nashville, TN (local candidates preferred)
Compensation: Up to $160,000 base (depending on experience) + benefits
Position Type: Full-Time

A well-established and rapidly growing mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Director to take the lead on major commercial, institutional, and industrial mechanical projects in the Nashville market. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives on guiding complex projects, mentoring teams, and building lasting client relationships.

What You’ll Do

  • Direct and oversee multiple large-scale projects, ensuring budgets and financial goals are met.

  • Build strong relationships with owners, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Review and monitor schedules, work plans, and labor productivity to keep projects on track.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop project managers and support staff.

  • Partner with design and engineering teams to create clear project scopes and success plans.

  • Uphold all site safety and quality standards.

  • Provide guidance on estimating, change orders, and resource planning.

  • Contribute to company-wide planning, strategy, and growth initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager in mechanical construction (HVAC, piping, plumbing preferred).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong technical and computer skills with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, P6, Viewpoint, Autodesk, or similar).

  • Ability to prepare estimates, manage change orders, and build resource-loaded schedules.

  • Strong understanding of construction documents and project execution.

  • A leadership style focused on growth, accountability, and results.
