Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an HVAC Service Manager with strong leadership and technical skills to oversee our commercial service operations. This role manages the service technician team, ensures client satisfaction, and drives profitability through efficient scheduling, preventive maintenance programs, and technical expertise in complex commercial HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, schedule, and oversee service technicians handling commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and VAV/VRF systems.

  • Ensure proper troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair methods are followed on all service calls.

  • Review work orders, estimates, and invoices to ensure accuracy and profitability.

  • Maintain and grow client relationships by providing timely communication, technical support, and service recommendations.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance agreements and programs to support long-term system reliability.

  • Provide technical training and mentoring for technicians, including safety practices and code compliance.

  • Coordinate closely with the project and construction teams for equipment turnovers, start-ups, and warranty issues.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, state licensing requirements, and company safety policies.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of HVAC industry experience, with at least 5 years focused on commercial service.

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing field technicians.

  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, hydronic systems, building automation/controls, and refrigeration.

  • Proven experience with preventive maintenance contracts and service agreement growth.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required.

  • State HVAC/Mechanical License strongly preferred.

  • Strong business acumen with experience in job costing, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
