A local builder is seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Superintendent to oversee construction projects involving airport facilities and rental car operations throughout the Southeastern United States.
This position is ideal for a hands-on construction professional with strong field leadership skills and experience managing commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will be based in the Atlanta area and must be comfortable traveling throughout the Southeast to oversee projects from start to finish.
The Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, managing daily field operations, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with quality standards and project specifications.
Oversee daily on-site construction activities for airport, rental car facility, and related commercial construction projects.
Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain project schedules and quality expectations.
Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with plans, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements.
Develop and maintain project schedules while identifying potential delays and implementing solutions.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, progress, and compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve field issues.
Review construction drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies and address questions before they impact project progress.
Lead project meetings and communicate schedule updates, field conditions, and construction challenges to the project team.
Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, and other required project records.
Enforce jobsite safety policies and promote a safe working environment for all personnel.
Oversee project closeout activities, punch lists, and final inspections.
Travel as needed throughout the Southeastern United States to support active projects.
Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent overseeing commercial construction projects.
Experience managing ground-up construction, renovations, or facility improvements.
Airport, rental car facility, transportation facility, or similar specialized commercial construction experience is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and jobsite safety.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain project momentum.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
Must reside in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Must be willing and able to travel throughout the Southeastern United States as project demands require.
Base salary of $110,000–$125,000, depending on experience.
