Job Description

About the Opportunity:
A well-established, locally owned community bank in northwest Illinois is seeking a BSA Officer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a banking professional with a strong foundation in compliance, operations, or lending who is ready to step into a vital role focused on protecting the institution and its customers.

The bank is known for its strong financial performance, deep community ties, and long-standing reputation for service. If you’re looking to grow your career in BSA/AML compliance in a stable, mission-driven environment—this could be your next step.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and OFAC compliance program

  • Conduct monitoring, investigations, and reporting of suspicious activity

  • Maintain and update policies, procedures, and risk assessments related to BSA/AML compliance

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements

  • Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits and examinations

  • Stay current on regulatory updates and industry trends

What We’re Looking For:

  • Prior experience in banking—ideally in compliance, operations, or lending

  • Working knowledge or strong interest in BSA/AML, OFAC, and related regulations

  • Ability to think critically, work independently, and exercise sound judgment

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing what’s right

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in banking

  • Familiarity with BSA/AML processes (training available for the right candidate)

  • CAMS certification or similar is a plus, but not required

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Join a financially strong, highly rated institution with over a century of community presence

  • Be part of a close-knit team where your contributions are recognized and valued

  • Competitive compensation and benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and generous PTO

  • Work in a culture that prioritizes doing what’s right—for both customers and employees
