Quality Control Inspector
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect all fabrication jobs to ensure quality standards align with codes, regulations, and QC procedures.
- Conduct site inspections at subcontractor locations as needed.
- Prepare daily inspection reports.
- Monitor and maintain records of welder certifications and daily rod use.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining welding, bolting, and painting procedures.
- Provide feedback and support on quality and project-related questions from shop employees.
- Regular, punctual attendance and ability to work overtime when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, with an Associate’s Degree or 3+ years of experience in a steel fabrication shop.
- Previous fitting and welding experience preferred.
- Strong mathematical and blueprint-reading skills.
- Ability to pass an inspector test.
- AWS certified welding inspector, ASNT level-II, or SSPC/NACE certification a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and climb up to 25 ft.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional travel with overnight stays.
- Exposure to temperature changes and loud environments.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
