Quality Control Inspector

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect all fabrication jobs to ensure quality standards align with codes, regulations, and QC procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections at subcontractor locations as needed.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports.
  • Monitor and maintain records of welder certifications and daily rod use.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining welding, bolting, and painting procedures.
  • Provide feedback and support on quality and project-related questions from shop employees.
  • Regular, punctual attendance and ability to work overtime when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with an Associate’s Degree or 3+ years of experience in a steel fabrication shop.
  • Previous fitting and welding experience preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and blueprint-reading skills.
  • Ability to pass an inspector test.
  • AWS certified welding inspector, ASNT level-II, or SSPC/NACE certification a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and climb up to 25 ft.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional travel with overnight stays.
  • Exposure to temperature changes and loud environments.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
