Job Title: Operations Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day construction operations for a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in concrete paving, bridges, and heavy highway projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily operations across multiple construction projects.

  • Oversee field supervision, scheduling, manpower allocation, and equipment utilization.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to resolve operational challenges.

  • Monitor project performance and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.

  • Assist with bid reviews, project planning, and resource forecasting.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to field staff and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with a focus on concrete paving, bridges, and/or heavy highway.

  • Strong knowledge of DOT standards, specifications, and procedures.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with scheduling and project management software.
