Job Description

GPAC is currently working with a company who is hiring an HVAC Maintenance Manager. This company is in the food manufacturing industry and is expanding and growing quickly.

The HVAC Maintenance Manager is a hands-on position that is responsible for overseeing and managing all the cooling equipment in our buildings. You will work with your staff to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot freon-based cooling systems in our facilities. Candidates must be knowledgeable with freon-based/ammonia cooling systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Service cooling systems (e.g., compressors, condensers) by replacing parts; and perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure proper performance.
  • Develops budgets for plant maintenance, projects, and major and minor line improvements.
  • Schedules, supervises, and directs the work of the team of technicians.
  • Measure quantity of supply air into air handlers; read gauges to determine output of equipment.
  • Determine the quantity of refrigerant charge needed to be added during servicing.
  • Inspect mechanical system to ensure proper operation, using testing equipment and gauges for accuracy.
  • Machine maintenance, breaking down equipment when needed, helping to adjust and set up equipment for daily production.
  • Overseeing preventative maintenance, which includes daily and weekly inspection of all machinery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in HVAC and food production/ facility maintenance; 3 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Freon-based systems required; universal certification/license highly preferred.
  • Must be a proactive team player who learns quickly when facing new problems and a learner open to change.
  • ADVANCED mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Able to work in refrigerated environment.
  • Able to read engineering schematic such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic.
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Occasional overtime/weekend work as needed.

Salary: $95k-$115k

Shift: Monday-Friday
