Position Overview:
The firm is seeking a skilled Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload, including personal injury, property damage, and professional liability claims. The ideal candidate will work closely with experienced litigators, play a key role in case strategy, and have the chance to develop professionally in a dynamic legal setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in insurance defense litigation from case inception to resolution.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and provide in-depth analysis on complex issues.
- Take and defend depositions, participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
- Develop and execute effective case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
- Negotiate settlements and manage case files with efficiency and precision.
- Maintain proactive and professional client communication throughout all case stages.
- Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends affecting insurance defense.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active admission to the Oregon and Washington Bar.
- 2+ years of experience in insurance defense or related litigation (preferred).
- Strong litigation and case management skills with a track record of handling complex matters.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and advocacy abilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
